MELODIE HART

Product Designer bringing heart and strategy together to create experiences people genuinely love

Hi, I'm Melodie. I love people. We're all carrying something. Full of longing and desire, our view of the world is colored by feeling, even when we're just trying to complete a simple task online.

I've seen confidence fade when someone can't find their way through a flow. It breaks my heart. When designers work in isolation, we contribute to that feeling. I don't want to be part of that.

I want people to feel seen. To feel heard.

So I begin by asking: who are we designing for? What does their day look like? What are they carrying? Then I look at the task ahead and ask how I might make their world a fraction lighter.

I work like a detective, turning evidence over in my hands. Like an actor, inhabiting a character until the truth reveals itself. That's why I turn to journey maps, research, behavioral science. I stay in their shoes until I understand what they're reaching for.

For me, success is simple: someone finishes what they came to do and walks away feeling just a little bit better than when they arrived.

ABOUT ME

Born and raised near Vancouver, Canada, with a three-year chapter in Oxford, England, I now call Vashon Island, Washington home. My path to design was unconventional—I spent years owning and operating an antique and rare bookstore, where I discovered that my true passion lies in design from a business perspective. Those years curating beautiful objects and stories taught me to see the intersection of aesthetics, functionality, and human connection.

When I'm not designing, you'll find me exploring the vibrant art scene of the Pacific Northwest, losing myself in indie and foreign films, or making music—I'm a singer-songwriter and guitarist who loves collaborating with fellow musicians. My dog Charlie and I are constantly discovering new beaches and trails around the island, finding inspiration in the natural beauty that surrounds us.
